This blogspot has been moved to my own personal domain. 

I have been finding this app quite tedious to use and so decided to give up on it 

and move everything to a new place.

Currently on the train, boarded at Chorley and there will be one change at Barrow in Furness. I got a slightly later train because I felt extremely tired yesterday. I was late finishing work and the drive up was ok although a fair bit of congestion in parts. Train seems to be stuck at Preston at the moment, hopefully will get going again soon. 


I have been blown away by the very generous contributions to The Alzheimer's Society, my chosen  charity for this adventure.

And we're off again, Choo Choo!

I had planned on going a little bit further, but my body was protesting against the heat in combination with carrying a heavy pack, so I decided to be sensible and stop for the day. I also was extremely kind to myself and checked into a hotel for the night, where I had a meal, which wasn't great but enough to hit the spot, and currently on my second pint. It will be my last, I am going for a soak in the bath and having an early night. I've seen some fantastic scenery today. Coast to Coast Walk

The Coast to Coast walk I followed, was as defined by Alfred Wainwright , and has been walked by keen hikers many times since he did. The route begins at St Bees, Cumbria and finishes in Robin Hood's Bay, Yorkshire, a total of 192 miles. This is the route. I originally split the walk into two sections, and then into three. Day 2, Cleator to Black Sail Hut

  This blogspot has been moved to my own personal domain.  I have been finding this app quite tedious to use and so decided to give up on it  and move everything to a new place.   www.lianesoutham.co.uk    I set off around 10.15am from Cleator. I had heard about the diversions at Dent so decided to take my own alternative route rather than risk getting lost with the diversions. I'm glad I did that because I heard some tales of people climbing over trees and walking miles extra. I walked to Cleator Moor and then onto Ennerdale.  There was a cycling event going on, lots of MIL (men in Lycra) and even a few LIL 😁 Onwards to Ennerdale Bridge where I came across a lovely little cafe called TheGather, where I bought a bacon roll and a couple of tired looking bananas. I was going to eat my roll !by the lake but it was difficult to balance it whilst carrying walking poles and a gurt big backpack, and I saw a sign which said the lake was 1.5 miles! So I sat on...
